NTA eligibility examination for JRF, Assistant Professor and PhD admission; qualification does not guarantee employment.
Application dates and fees
- Regular application and payment: 8-28 October 2026, 11:50 PM.
- Late application/payment: 29-31 October, 11:50 PM; additional ₹500.
- Corrections: 2-4 November, 11:50 PM.
- General ₹1,150; General-EWS/OBC-NCL ₹600; SC/ST/PwD/Third Gender ₹325. Applicable gateway charges extra.
Who can apply?
- Master's/equivalent: 55% for General/EWS; 50% for OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD/PwBD/Third Gender.
- Result-awaited candidates may apply provisionally; degree-completion conditions apply.
- Four-year degree: 75%, with permitted 5% relaxation; this route permits JRF/PhD, not Assistant Professor.
- JRF: maximum 30 on 1 December 2026; notified relaxations apply. No upper age for Assistant Professor/PhD.
Revised schedule and pattern
Exams: 14-18 and 21 December 2026. City information: 23 November; admit card: 7 December. Check NTA for changes. CBT: 180 minutes, 150 questions, 300 marks across Papers I and II; no break or negative marking.
