MPESB Group 3 Recruitment 2026 – Sub Engineer and Technical Posts, Reopens 13 October
Reopened window and revised examination
The 1 October 2026 reopening notice announces applications from 13 to 27 October and corrections from 13 to 28 October. The earlier 7 October examination schedule is replaced by an examination period in December 2026–January 2027; exact dates await announcement. This campaign includes Sub Engineers, technicians, draughtsmen, surveyors and other technical roles in participating departments.
Vacancy count and revised rule book
The original rule book advertised 552 vacancies. The reopening notice indicates an increase and a revised rule book, so 552 is historical and must not be treated as the revised total. The post-family requirements, pay and original examination rules below are reference information from the original rule book. Read the revised post codes, allocations, dates, fees and any changed eligibility once published on MPESB before applying. No revised final vacancy total is asserted here.
Qualifications and domicile
Eligibility differs by post code and engineering or technical branch. Some codes require experience, first-division marks or an additional GIS/remote-sensing certificate. Hold the qualification when applying. The original rule book requires live registration with a Madhya Pradesh State Employment Exchange. Applicants from other states compete against unreserved/open seats and cannot claim MP category benefits. Check all these conditions again in the revised rule book.
Original exam and selection rules
The original scheme has one three-hour objective paper for 200 marks: 100 general and 100 technical. General subjects cover GK, Hindi, English, maths, reasoning, science and computers; the technical paper depends on the post code. Minimum qualifying marks are 50% for unreserved and 40% for the listed eligible reserved/PwBD categories. Department and post-preference allotment uses percentile merit, followed by departmental document verification and appointment. Aadhaar-based checks and original photo ID are required under the rules.
Original fees—confirm against revised rules
The original examination fee is ₹500 per paper for unreserved and non-MP applicants, and ₹250 for eligible MP SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD applicants. Eligible direct-recruitment backlog vacancies are exempt. Portal charges are ₹60 through a kiosk or ₹20 through a registered self-service user. Each correction costs ₹20 plus ₹40 portal charge. These amounts are not newly confirmed by the reopening notice; the revised rule book will control.
How to apply after reopening
Read the revised rule book, open the MPOnline ESB application service from 13 October, complete the profile and application, upload the prescribed photograph/signature/handwriting image, enter eligible post preferences, pay and preserve the form number and receipt. One form covers the selected posts. Make permitted corrections by 28 October. Baiga, Sahariya and Bhariya applicants claiming the special non-executive route should check the revised departmental hard-copy instructions rather than reuse the expired original deadline.
