IISER Kolkata Non-Teaching Recruitment 2026 – 17 Posts

Dates and advertisement

Advertisement IISER-K/Admn/NT-04/2026, dated 19 September, invites direct recruitment applications for 17 posts. Online applications close on 19 October 2026 at 17:30. The signed hard copy must reach the institute by 29 October 2026 at 17:30. Test dates have not been announced.

Eligibility date needs clarification

The notice’s dates table identifies 19 September 2026 as the crucial date, while clause 35 states that eligibility, experience and age are counted at the application closing date. Both statements are reproduced in the linked official notice. Applicants whose eligibility changes between 19 September and 19 October should obtain clarification from the institute. This listing does not resolve that conflict by inventing a date.

Experience and qualification documents

Each post requires relevant experience; Junior Engineer has separate five-year degree and eight-year diploma routes. Part-time work is excluded. Where experience at a specific pay level is essential, contractual, temporary or outsourced work does not count. Experience letters must identify designation, service period, duties and pay, and bear the employer’s authorised signature and stamp. Use the university’s certified percentage conversion where applicable.

Selection

Applications are scrutinised and may be shortlisted using additional relevant criteria. A qualifying computer skill and/or trade test precedes the written assessment. The written paper carries 100 marks: 50 general and 50 specialization. Final selection uses written-test merit; skill-test scores do not carry forward. Appointment is subject to original document verification, medical fitness and antecedent checks.

Compulsory online and postal steps

Complete the application through the Samarth portal, upload evidence, pay and submit by 19 October. Print and sign the completed form and send it with self-attested testimonials by registered post, speed post or courier to The Dean (Administration), IISER Kolkata, Mohanpur, Nadia District, West Bengal – 741246. Mark the envelope with the post applied for. Receipt by 29 October is compulsory; postal delay is the applicant’s responsibility. Submit and pay separately for each post.

Fees, reservation and appointment terms

The normal fee is ₹500, comprising ₹450 application fee and ₹50 registration fee. SC/ST/PwBD/women/ex-servicemen/transgender applicants pay the ₹50 registration component. OBC-NCL certificates must meet the stated April 2026 date requirement and EWS certificates the 2026–27 validity requirement. The Junior Engineer vacancy is reserved for OBC. Within the ten Junior Assistant posts, one ex-serviceman and one blindness/low-vision PwBD reservation are horizontal, not additional posts. Probation is one year, extendable.
