Vacancies, dates and appointment
Advertisement 69/2026/Admn. invites applications for two Assistant Directors, four Technical Managers and eight Technical Assistants. Online applications open on 3 October and close on 2 November 2026 at 23:59:59. The signed hard copy and supporting documents must reach IGNOU by 12 November 2026. Posting may be at headquarters or university centres according to institutional requirements.
Qualification and experience
All advertised areas require a recognised CS/IT B.E., B.Tech., M.Sc. or MCA with at least 55% or equivalent grade. Minimum relevant experience is ten years for Assistant Director, five for Technical Manager and three for Technical Assistant. Experience is counted after the qualifying degree; part-time, daily-wage and visiting or guest engagements do not count. The prescribed experience evidence must state service dates, pay and duties. Domain-specific essential duties and desirable tools are set out in the notification.
Shortlisting and examinations
IGNOU may shortlist using academic merit, experience, screening, written/CBT or skill assessments and interviews as applicable. No single examination timetable or fixed paper pattern has been announced. Minimum eligibility alone does not ensure a call. The university will publish the applicable syllabus, test-centre arrangements and further recruitment updates. Original eligibility and category documents will be checked.
Online application followed by compulsory hard copy
Register through the IGNOU career page, select the relevant position and domain, enter details, upload documents and pay online. Download the submitted application, sign it and send the printout with self-attested documents to Recruitment Cell, Room No. 13, Block No. 7, IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi – 110068. Ensure receipt by 12 November. Retain postal tracking, submitted form and receipt. The online closing date remains 2 November.
Age, category and fees
Age is assessed on 2 November 2026. Government employees, ex-servicemen and university employees should check the applicable relaxation provisions. Reserved-category applicants competing for unreserved vacancies cannot claim reserved-seat age concessions. Application fees are ₹1,000 for UR/OBC-NCL/EWS and ₹500 for SC/ST/PH/ex-servicemen/women. Payment is non-refundable and bank charges are borne by applicants.
